Navigating the Risks of Outdated Security Infrastructure
As a leading player in the insurance industry, Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc faced increasing pressure to maintain the highest standards of security in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. However, their existing firewall infrastructure, based on the Sophos XG firewall, was approaching its end of life. This posed several critical challenges.
Loss of Critical Security Services
With the expiration of support from the OEM,
the company faced the risk of losing essential security services that protected sensitive business data and financial transactions.
End of Support from Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)
The cessation of software updates and support meant that the firewall could no longer receive timely patches and upgrades, leaving the system vulnerable to evolving cyber threats.
Imminent Protection Failures
The end-of-life status of the firewall system created a significant gap in protection, making the organization increasingly susceptible to cyberattacks, particularly from advanced persistent threats (APTs)
Operational Downtime Risk
The lack of a seamless upgrade path to a more secure solution also meant the possibility of operational downtime, which could have disrupted their day-to-day business activities and tarnished their reputation with clients.
Faced with these challenges, Veritas Kapital Assurance knew they needed to act swiftly to safeguard their infrastructure and ensure continuity in operations.
The Catalyst for Change
Understanding the urgency and the high stakes involved, Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc partnered with Reliance Infosystems to proactively address their cybersecurity risks and modernize their firewall infrastructure.
Together, we embarked on a journey to assess their current security landscape, identify vulnerabilities, and map out a migration path that would ensure no operational downtime and deliver enhanced protection. The decision was clear: transition from the aging Sophos XG firewall to the next-generation Sophos XGS Firewall, a solution built for advanced performance, zero-day threat defense, and operational simplicity.
Our role was not just advisory as we took full ownership of the deployment process, providing expertise, planning, and execution support to ensure a smooth, risk-free migration.
